SECOND SET OF POEMS

shadeddaxion

@what-would-jedi-do

Imagine them here now

In your shoes

Facing your problems

Skin prickling

As they feel your fears

Would they stand strong

As they do

Against evil time and time again

Or would they cower

And whimper

While you simply walk forward

And face the day

abrokefangirl

Chest tight, heart beating against her skin

Fingers clasped around the coin purse

Wishing and hoping that it contained more

Than the spare wrinkled dollars it did

A crisp fifty, or even a twenty

But no, coins jingle and paper crumples

Only envious eyes fall on merch and media

Only despairing lips whisper

“Maybe next time”

@sarcasmcupcakes

The food I make

Is snarkier

Than I am

It’s a little disconcerting

sleepiest-kitten

Snoring quietly away

The sleepiest kitten

Dreams of yesterday

Chasing mice in fields

Eating captured prey

Flighty, joyous, free

To sleep is just to play

nightwings-schway

Shadows along darkened outdoor corridors

Stay safe, stay silent

From side to side

Stay serpentine so they cannot see you

Watching for their eyes far above

Red, like spotlights

And their #FFFFFF smiles

Wrap your fingers around the cords of your hoodie

Pull them tight, shut out the world

Pretend that approximately 50% of the passersby want to gobble you up

They criticize you for shutting yourself off

But they’re the ones who won’t take no for an answer

@busterkurry

Sizzling spices serenade several senses:

Sapid sight for eight eyes,

Sweet smells for four noses,

Four chefs tossing ingredients

Into the pan, soon to be tasted

(The most important one)

A dish devised and divine

Repetition replaces raw “talent”

Create an experience

chistorm

There is rain in my gut

It cycles through my body

Occasionally leaking out my eyes

And my pores

There is lightning in my limbs

It thunders through my veins

From cloudy mind to clearer hands

Clenching fingers to fists

It fills my passion with voltage

Sparks of inspiration to light my way

I’m not asking for a change in the weather

But an umbrella would be nice

@weirdfaeaunt

My mother is the normal one

Her sister is the odd

Her wispy wings ethereal

Out of sunbeams, a facade

Only in their rays I see

The twinkling glitter clear

And watch her as she smiles, whispers

“I don’t fly much now, my dear.”

hikikomorina

I want to be alone

But loneliness surrounds me

And then I could do without isolation

@fallingangelwithpds

The descent isn’t what hurts

Rushing wind could be worse

No breath left to take away

The landing is where the danger lies

But with light-years to fall still

That isn’t too worrisome right now

I’ve still got time to consider the world

Before I smack face-first into it

princessfangface

The werewolf from far away sent a letter

(In absentia of the current ruler, fallen off a nearby cliff)

With credentials, and request to take the late king’s place

As monarch, considered, as the last had left no heirs

The royal court felt that one day a month

Of beasthood was worth enduring

For a queen of her caliber

And so, they approved, and sent back word

In three days, as requested, she arrived

In a lovely pearl carriage, in between the milling crowd

Ready to see and accept their new leader

The door opened, and out she stepped into the sun

In a gorgeous blue-green dress

With a bow atop her brow

Covered head to toe in well-brushed fur

She smiled warmly at the shocked congregation

Despite the razor-sharp fangs that lay upon her lip

Stepping forward to shake hands with her new court

She sheepishly informed them that, technically

The moon was always full, scientifically speaking

After a few moments of hesitation,

In which all were deathly quiet in anticipation,

The royal advisor smiled back

And invited the werewolf queen into her throne room

Face of fangs and all

lower-case-numbers

They tell me math is universally aligned

Into neat orderly categories

I don’t believe that there cannot be outliers

The little lower case numbers

Never featured, still existing

Because no one cares to learn how to downshift twice

But that doesn’t stop them from being who they are

FIRST SET OF POEMS

shadeddaxion

serotonin-and-semiconductors

There are machines in organics

Mechanics in my blood

Swimming through the plasma

Injecting “feeling good”

It’s the illusion called placebo

Despite my aching bones

My depression snickers gleeful

And makes its wicked home

kuzlalala

Singing for the sake of song

We open our lungs and send intentions beating

Align ourselves with harmony

It makes whole our fragmented selves

@reaxeons

There is a chain inside my mind, I don’t know how it got there

Bouncing thoughts around my brain, from different spots to same

I’m sure it has its uses, it just does what it thinks is correct

But I’d prefer if it would stop misleading my thoughts

Oh well, here we go once again

ex-heterosexual

How ironic

That you

Call me “deviation”

Soon to return to (your) default

When in reality

Being like you

Was simply the stepping stone

To being me

@autistictransgirlsora

I’m sorry

I couldn’t think of a poem to write

Because all

I could think

While looking at

Your URL

Was Kingdom Hearts

I’m fandom trash

irleponine

I’m growing up too fast

No one understands though they say they do

I wish that I could go back and be me again

Before I had

To be

Someone else

In my body

@robollorama

I think, if one really needed to

A robot could out-bowl a human

They can keep their hands so steady

As to aim precise and true

But I think a robot might

Have a little trouble

When it comes to English

flyingunlikeabrick

The might eagle spreads its wings

The brick remains a brick

The falcon soars about the clouds

The brick perpetually sits

The sparrow flirts from roof to ground

The brick admires the earth

The crow perches on the tallest branch

The brick continues to stay

Each of these birds tease the brick

They say “look at us fly

While you are stuck there in the dirt

So sad and pathetic, you brick”

But the brick just smiles and asks them back

“Yes, but how well can you be a house?”

question-marked-cutie

She asked why a lot

It was cute to them at first

Until she started asking

Why the world was so cruel

Why some people could hurt others

Why people were singled out for derision

Why those in power got away with things their victims could not

Why people would jump to demonize the dead while their killers would be painted as innocent

Why –

They no longer found it cute

quasarkisses

We are all made of starstuff

But have you stopped to notice

When the galaxy in your eyes begins to twinkle

When the sun in your chest beats overtime

When the stars along your fingers tingle

When the quasar in your lips spark whenever you kiss

We are not made of static remnants of old celestials

We are constructed from their very living passions
